Shelby Lynn Ruger is one such exceptional individual. Since a young age she has been in tune with her authentic self. As someone whose love of the arts originated in music and writing, she found herself looking up to singers. Those such as Lauryn Hill, Juan Luis Guerra, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Boys II Men inspired her to express her own voice. Performing covers to their hits nurtured her already blossoming talent for singing. In middle school she expanded her writing practice and learned to share emotions through the power of short stories. When Shelby got to high school, she blended her pen with her vocals to craft songs that captured the hearts and spoke to the souls of her classmates. Ukelele in hand she exposed her emotions in poetic melodies. Serenading the hallways with tunes that told raw depictions of the different aspects of her life at the time. The goal for Shelby has always been to spread love and positivity with her music. Whether that be through tales of overcoming heartbreak, gaining confidence, or simply loving life. Shelby is an artist who believes that the good we put out comes back to us in return. She subscribes to the idea that the only thing we should be loyal to is loving ourselves and being good to others. Genuine and authentic, she welcomes new experiences with a smile and an open mind.
