"All of the things' people judge you for are the things you should be proud of. "
"Never feel like you aren’t worthy."
"Step into that person you have always seen yourself to be."
"Once it's out of you, you have to give it to the world."
"Be confident in yourself, be confident in your voice. Don’t be shy or scared in your singing."
Self-love doesn't come from a place of mighty strength or foreword thinking. Instead, it is cultivated from the fields of vulnerability and good will. Ausha Simone Wallace began her artistic career as a singer. As a part of her high school choir, she learned to read music, write lyrics and sing opera. Singing became a way for her to cultivate home within herself. Her free time often spent in a choir room relinquishing stress in elegant riffs. In college she challenged herself to write more than songs. Inspired by Gabi Fresh, Ausha started her own fashion blog, showcasing style through her auspicious image and delicate words. Poetry was the other side of her collegiate writing practice, a way for her to privately love and care for herself. Her words speaking to empowerment in the face of a fragile society. Expanding from writing she dove next into modeling, the visual representation of an empowered Ausha. In front of the camera, she is unapologetic in her decadence as THE full figure black woman. Confident, beautiful, and self-aware. A model to other full figure black women to be beautiful. To let the strength of ancestors past, bask in the glory of encouragement. In continuing toward her vision of a reinvented full figure black woman, Ausha began an Instagram page, Black Plus Women. Here other full figure black women have the opportunity to showcase their passion for fashion and visual expression. As a multidisciplinary artist, Ausha brings forth a story with a history older than the nation. One that society, especially the black community, has always been dependent upon. Ausha's inspirations are Precious Lee, Nadia Aboulhosn, Gabi Fresh, Mo'Nique, Beyonce, Jill Scott, Niia, and Lizzo. She attributes a piece of who she is, who she aspires to become, to each of these ladies. Jasmine Sullivan is another of Ausha's icons, Her's being the voice most reminiscent of Ausha's childhood and the times spent in car rides with her mother. In aspirations, her immediate goals are to release a five song EP, be signed by a modeling agency willing to work with her vision, and to participate in more live performances in her city. As a practiced singer, she brings out her vulnerability. Reflecting the desire to cry and smile all at once. As a writer, she is honest with herself and the world. Letting it be known that she is a person of love. Someone who cares for her own mental well-being, alongside that of others. As a model, she is fully herself placing aside all doubt and insecurity as she exemplifies magnificence. Telling the world that she is in love with who she is and welcomes all those who wish to share in that love alongside her.
