"Be more confident and believe in yourself."

"Don’t be afraid to speak up and defend yourself or your beliefs."

“In front of the canvas you can be Sara, but sometimes you need to be your own marketer and promoter and that’s Jessica.”

"Be fully yourself and comfortable and free in all aspects of life.”

We all share an inner world and an outer world. Both are governed consciously and unconsciously. The inner world is much like space, dark, sparkling with lights that shine like fireflies in the woods. Floating lightbulbs, ideas awaiting capture. The outer world is like one's bedroom, the appearance of order a facade to entropy. Chaos lurking in a basket of dirty clothes. As human beings we search to find meaning and purpose between these two worlds. Sara Jessica is an astronaut of the inner world and an explorer of the outer. This distinction of worlds occurred for Sara in her formative years. She recognized her own perspective and set it apart from the perspectives of others. Raging at any attempts to fit her in a labeled box. Mathematician, artist, scientist, she was someone who recognized the experience of life and studied it. Sara often found herself sketching out her observations of the world. Her first obsession was discovering how to draw an image as realistic as it appeared to her. It wasn't until High school that she expanded her craft from sketch pad to canvas. It wasn't until practice in different mediums that she uncovered a love for painting in oil colors. A desire to pursue the technical challenge of realism painting transmuted into a quest of the heart. Sara began to use her skills to bring outward her internal imagery letting her imagination stand in as muse. Like painting a creek running adjacent a forest, with human legs stretched orderly in the surface of the water, human arms extended within the branches of the trees. Sara's style stems from a blind approach to creating. She has to be unaware of where or how a painting will end up in order to complete it. This same approach has been applied to her work on the professional side of being an artist. But there is a need for focused work when it comes to being a career painter. Like a physicist who goes through the scientific method before enacting an experiment, Sara's goal is to implement more preparation into her life as an artist. She also wants to take her art beyond the mid-west. Bringing her decadence to different residences and communities. Expanding her work and self in the process. New experiences with people who are authentically themselves are sought. Sara has strong intuition when it comes to the individuals with whom her company is kept. As an artist she knows the importance in protecting her energy and does so by layering her relationships. There are those like Eric Romero, Tito Stanley and Sierra (Honey) Fogle whom Sara is close knit. As idols and friends, they each inspire, encourage and support one another in their various artistic endeavors. Then there are those in Sara's separate layer of community whom she associates less frequently but just as passionately. This group is where she finds herself accomplishing purposeful work by teaching sewing classes. Here she creates a safe space for others to learn a new skill, while also supporting her mission of promoting sustainable clothing. Sara is an artist who seeks knowledge of self and the world. Throwing her findings on canvas one stroke at a time.
